Saturday 10th June and Sunday 11th June 2006.
A chance to meet, talk with and observe at work many of the finest artists and craftspeople on the Yorkshire Wolds.
A group of professional artists, artisans and craft workers who live and work on the scenic Yorkshire Wolds will be holding their first ever open studios/gallery event.
Brought together as a body of painters, screen printers, sculptors, photographers, jewellers, potters and craft workers already established in their own respective fields, the Wolds Art Group perceived the opportunity of opening their doors to a public exhibition with the chance to meet the artistís weekend.
At Malcolm MacLachlanís Studio Gallery at Tibthorpe there will be a Grizzly Bear as well as a range of sculptured pieces carved out of wood, somewhat fittingly by a chain saw. Look out for a Golden Eagle tempered in steel by the sculptor David Athey. All these set amongst the sea and waves impressionistically created by the artist David Humphries and who will also be sculpturing paintings with wood.
Moving on down the road to Bishop Wilton there will be more birds of prey and an Osprey soaring over the sea with Spurn Lighthouse in the background.
These pieces will be on display in The Gallery of John Burrows whose natural feel for the beauty of the countryside is captured in a range of his stylistic prints.
Other galleries and artists are shown on the map below.
