The rapid advance in digital photography and high speed computers has created a tremendous opportunity for artists to develop their work.
Photography and painting both created images but whereas in the early years photographic images were used to capture the immediacy of the moment for later development on the canvas, techniques then evolved that allowed those images to be artistically manipulated. The dark room held many secrets and absorbed many, many hours.
Today , with the use of digital cameras and high speed computers those techniques can be applied quickly and more comprehensively, providing innovative imagery.
Add to that the ability to paint electronically and the new world of digital art explodes.
Images can be original paintings, photographs or scanned objects designed and arranged to create new works of art.
In this new gallery are shown some of the latest compositions.
They all add to the way we see the world.
