Painting Music

Music has always provided inspiration for painting as both are compositions that use similar expressions.

Colour can set the mood as can the tempo, the tones can reflect the subtlety, lines and spaces the individual instruments, texture the melody, direction the movement and size the length of the piece.

Compare them each with contrast and harmony, unity and variety, rhythm, graduation and balance.

The essential aspects of composition of painting and music are the same.

Paintings of music were recently shown at the Leeds Exhibition but now music by paintings has been added.

This is a new development using the paintings as a source for the music.

There is still a degree of human intervention but essentially the paintings were analysed by a fractal attractor and the individual colour notes added to the interpretation .
